Oh, how I wish David \u2014 or his fleet of songwriters \u2014 had taken that line to heart. But they didn\u2019t, and this is the same old chart.<br><br>We do learn one thing new, though, about YHWH: \u201cHis right hand and His holy arm have gained Him the victory.\u201d So YAH wasn\u2019t a southpaw. He was Spahn, not Sain, and He was also the rain.<br><br>\u201cShout joyfully to the Lord, all the earth.\u201d In the KJV, that\u2019s the famous \u201cmake a joyful noise\u201d line. Trumpet and cornet noise are mentioned \u2014 neither Miles nor Bix, \u2018cause both were left-handed.<br><br>The last verse starts with \u201cLet the sea roar,\u201d reminding me of Chicago\u2019s oldie \u201cWishing You Were Here.\u201d Psalmists would have dug that song with its moldy theme of a heavenly love gone wrong.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>\u201cOh, sing to the Lord a new song.\u201d That\u2019s how this psalm begins.
