It\u2019s short and sounds like something written for the local chamber of commerce.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The psalmist praises \u201cZion\u201d as the greatest city on earth \u2014 better than Jericho, Babylon, Philistia and Tyre, and every city in Ethiopia.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I don&#8217;t know about that. I lived in Zion for two years \u2014 Zion, IL, that is \u2014 and it wasn\u2019t better than Jericho or Babylon, in NY or TX.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Of course, the poet is referring to Jerusalem, the \u201ccity of God.\u201d The name actually means \u201ccity of peace,\u201d but we know that ain&#8217;t true.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>This is the 10th of 11 psalms by the sons of Korah.
