Everybody loved their chart-topping psalms \u2014 the beautiful people, working-class heroes, rich country clubbers and plain ol\u2019 poor folks. But these guys didn\u2019t play six- or 12-string Martins and Gibsons. Their axes were kinnors (also called lyres, or harps) and had 3-22 strings.<br><br>This psalm is a dark one \u2014 more goth, emo or grunge than a song of praise \u2014 a mashup of all the Paleo-Hebrew hits, like \u201cThe Devil Went Down to Gaza,\u201d \u201cEverybody Wants to Rule Judea,\u201d and that confessional classic, \u201cI\u2019ve Seen Fire and Brimstone.\u201d The oft-repeated refrain reminds us that we all will die, and that we\u2019ll take nothing with us, not even if we\u2019re as funky as King Tut.
